I am writing to convey my thanks to AIHE for their involvement in the TAH grants. Their organization and expertise, coupled with their staff, allowed me to experience the most beneficial workshop I have attended for teaching American History. I am currently teaching U.S. History for the twenty-ninth consecutive year and I have not found a great deal of support for this curriculum area. Math, science, and special needs appear to receive the lion's share of funding for teachers to attend workshops and conferences that will benefit them as teachers, and that will benefit their students. History has almost always been left out of the process.

AIHE appears to be a perfect fit for the TAH grants as they have individuals with the background and expertise to move the teaching of American history forward. Their staff has been the leader in this field of history education in the country and they are ahead of anyone else I have heard of in this movement. AIHE should be the vehicle we use to advance the Teaching of American History.
