Anthony Fitzpatrick

Mr. Fitzpatrick is one of AIHE’s most requested presenters. As a teacher, Mr. Fitzpatrick taught courses in United States, World, and European history to students who ranged in ability levels from special needs to Advanced Placement. His innovative teaching methods assisted his students in achieving a 93% pass rate on Advanced Placement tests throughout his career. As a Curriculum and Technology Supervisor with the Kingsway Regional School District (N.J.), he chaired regional curriculum alignment committees, observed and coached effective teaching strategies, and in-serviced educators on incorporating technology into their classrooms.

Mr. Fitzpatrick has created and collaborated in the development of new and innovative teaching methods designed to engage students in higher order investigation of historical content and to help them establish a link between history and language arts. These methods and strategies include White Out!, READ & SEED, Solve for Y, True to Their Word, and History SLAM.

Marnie Meyer

Ms. Meyer grew up in South Jersey and graduated with a BA in English from Rowan University of NJ.  After spending nearly 10 years as an office manager, she started her own business as a freelance bookkeeper and provided business management, bookkeeping, and payroll services for a number of small businesses in the South Jersey area.

Ms. Meyer began working as the Administrative Director for the Institute on a full time basis in June of 2006, and as such, she oversaw the daily operations of the AIHE office.

Steve Graham

Mr. Graham is the Vice President of Marketing and Communications for CICERO Communications, AIHE's in-house marketing firm. He is responsible for the marketing of AIHE's complete line of professional development products and services, plus partnership development, new product development and continued brand development. Steve brings over 25-years of marketing experience to AIHE, including radio, television, web, print and social media.

Before joining AIHE full time, Steve was the president and owner of Graham Communications, a New Jersey-based marketing firm specializing in web design, video production and emarketing. AIHE was a client of Graham Communications since the company's inception, so the merge was a perfect solution to continue the global growth plan of AIHE.

Mike Silvia

Fran Macko

Fran recently joined AIHE after a 30-year career as an educator. Fran studied literature through the lens of history as an undergraduate at Brooklyn College. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, and continued her studies in English and History at New York University, earning her doctorate in 1976. Fran spent 20 years as a classroom teacher, working with history educators from Queens College, and she authored two monographs for middle school teachers.

As the Director of Middle School Programs for a New York City district, Fran worked with the New York University Professional Development Lab to institute a teacher induction and mentoring program. In this model, cohorts of teachers received sustained, in-depth professional development in history and content literacy strategies.

As a regional instructional specialist, Fran developed a resource manual for administrators and facilitated training sessions for assistant principals. She also served as a project director for two Teaching American History grants.

Fran recently retired as the social studies curriculum specialist for the New York City Department of Education. Fran also was on the team that developed the New York City K-12 scope and sequence for social studies and the supporting curriculum guides and professional development workshops.

Lucinda Evans

Lucinda has been married for over 30 years and is the mother of two boys, one girl, and 4 beautiful grandchildren. She taught middle school for over 20 years in Topeka, Kansas (home of the Brown v. Topeka Board of Education court case and historic site). She has taught a variety of subjects in grades 6, 7 and 8, but her specialty is in American History. Lucinda has a bachelor's degree in history and secondary education and is continuing her graduate studies in History through Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Throughout her teaching career, she has done curriculum development at the district level as well as the state level. She has chaired district middle-level textbook committees through 3 textbook adoptions. She has written test items for her state social studies assessment and is currently working on aligning Kansas Social Studies Curriculum to the Common Core standards. She has received numerous awards and honors including nomination by her district for Kansas Teacher of the Year. Being from Kansas, Lucinda has become a bit of a specialist in teaching about the Gilded Age and has taught her Wizard of Oz allegory lesson in 10 states including her own state of Kansas. She has also become an expert on 20th century history with an emphasis on the Civil Rights movement since she teaches in the Brown v. Topeka Board of Education school district. She had the privilege of having Linda Brown, the daughter of Oliver Brown, one of the litigants in the Brown case, in her classroom and she even taught the grandchildren of Linda Brown.

Lucinda has received numerous awards in her career including a two week summer institute on slavery sponsored by the University of Virginia. As a part of the seminar, she stayed on the grounds of Stratford Hall, the birthplace of Robert E. Lee. She also participated in similar seminars sponsored by the National Humanities Council and the Kansas Humanities Council. Her most prestigious awards were when she was chosen as a Gilder Lehrman Scholar for a seminar on Civil Rights at Cambridge University in Cambridge, United Kingdom and as a Lincoln Scholar at Oxford University in Oxford, United Kingdom.

Linda Cullison

Linda joined the American Institute for History Education (AIHE) as an administrative associate in the summer of 2008. She comes to AIHE with more than 11 years of experience working as a national account manager. Linda’s service in this capacity has enabled her to understand and meet the demands and needs of customers. This experience also allows her to aid in the working relationship between AIHE and its customers.

A native Philadelphian, Linda resides in Woolwich Township, N.J., with her husband and three children.

Ross Brakman

Ross comes to AIHE as the Field Study Coordinator after spending fifteen years working in remote productions with the QVC television network in West Chester, PA. During his time at QVC, Ross traveled extensively across the United States coordinating live broadcasts from sites as diverse as the beaches of the Florida Keys and the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. He developed training programs for on-air guests and worked closely with show hosts and vendors. He was responsible for the smooth execution of hundreds of broadcasts from Maine to Alaska.

In his travels across the country, he has experienced hundreds of National Parks, historic house museums dedicated to many prominent Americans including the nation's Presidents, and countless other sites of historic and cultural importance. He is currently working on his Masters degree in Public History through Rutgers University and volunteers as a living historian at Valley Forge National Historical Park. Ross enthusiastically brings his knowledge and experience to AIHE.

Winnie Silveri

Winnie comes to AIHE with over thirty years of experience working in accounting departments at various businesses. As an Administrative Coordinator for AIHE, she is responsible for managing accounts receivables, contract administration and invoicing.

Winnie grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania but currently resides across the Delaware River in Southern New Jersey.

Chris Wilbraham

Chris, a native of South Jersey, graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BA in History in 1999. He began his teaching career at a Catholic elementary school in Buena, NJ where he taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Social Studies. It was during this year when he discovered his love of computers and web development and decided to switch career paths.

Chris received a diploma in Web Development from the Chubb Institute in 2001 and has been developing his skills as a programmer ever since. He worked five years for a marketing agency in Wilmington, DE, where he programmed numerous websites for companies including DuPont and the YMCA of Wilmington. In 2006 he joined a software development company in Maple Shade, NJ, where he created web applications for school districts and local governments across the United States. Chris joined AIHE as a Web Associate in June of 2010 and brings nine years of experience as a web developer, as well as a love and understanding of history.

Randy Westergren, Jr.

Randy Westergren began his IT career in 2006 at JP Morgan Chase & Co., after obtaining the CompTIA A+ certification. While developing his support and systems experience, Randy graduated Magna Cum Laude from Delaware Technical and Community College with an A.A.S. in Computer Network Engineering. In 2009, he joined Hilyard's Inc. where he further developed his IT systems and support skills. Randy also began pursuing his B.S. in Computing Technology at Drexel University, at which he is currently enrolled. It was during this time that Randy began application development, out of fascination with the efficiencies it could bring to new and existing work flows. After implementing several projects, on the side and for his employer, Randy decided to further his career in IT by pursuing a web development-focused position.

Randy is very excited to be a part of a talented team and looks forward to contributing to applications that will make a significant impact in the education industry.

Laureen Hungo Brady

Laureen is a certified elementary and early childhood teacher who comes to the American Institute for History Education with 13 years of teaching and administrative experience.

Laureen is the Instructional Design and Curriculum Editor for AIHE. She leads the development of all elementary curriculum and materials and manages outsource writers. She dedicated to creating a strong tie between literacy and history curriculums providing professional development for elementary teachers via national education conventions and school district colloquia. She continues to author teaching resources for AIHE’s signature product CICERO: History Beyond the Textbook™

Laureen’s work has also been nationally and internationally published through the New Jersey Italian and Italian American Heritage Commission’s curriculum and the New Jersey Network's program Ten Crucial Days, on the Battles of Princeton and Trenton.

Laureen’s most recent endeavor is her focus on authoring engaging historical children’s books with accompanying teacher manuals. A series of four books written on the fourth grade level includes George Washington’s Journal, My Friend Benjamin Franklin, Dear Mr. Alexander Hamilton and John and Abigail Adams. Keri Boyer

Keri grew up in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and moved to Delaware in 2010. In 2007, Keri graduated summa cum laude from Kaplan University in Hagerstown, Maryland, with a degree in Web Development & Design and was inducted into Alpha Beta Kappa and Epsilon Delta Pi. Keri joined AIHE in 2011, bringing with her over eight years of design experience, ranging from print media/marketing to digital graphic and web design.

Shortly after graduating college, her professional career in design expanded as she entered the nonprofit sector. During her early years of volunteering, Keri's impact in the non-profit sector landed her a position with Reaching Hearts for Kids (RHK) in 2009, a humanitarian nonprofit organization based in Maryland, where she took on the role of leading their IT Creative Department and overseeing their marketing plan through designing information brochures, large format posters, business cards, gift catalogs, and newsletters. Keri later went on to join Restore A Child, a non-profit organization based out of Beltsville, Maryland, as their IT Lead and Director of UNOV Design Division.

Keri's love of art and design began at a young age and continues to be nourished by not only being her career, but also a deeply enjoyed hobby for her. When Keri is not chasing after her active four year old, you can find her spending time with her husband, Jonathan, in their home in Hockessin, Delaware.

Dennis McErlane

Paul Sommers

Paul joined the American Institute for History Education in 2009 as Executive Assistant and became Marketing Coordinator in 2011. In this role, Paul serves as editor of the monthly Gazette, coordinates AIHE's presence at educational tradeshows nationwide and oversees all social media and marketing campaigns. Paul is also a regular site manager for field study trips and serves as project manager for all AIHE grant submissions.

Paul received his Master's Degree in Education from Rowan University in 2012 and obtained his Bachelor's Degree in History from Lafayette College in 2009.
