I am an elementary school teacher and this is my second year participating in the American Institute for History Education grant program. Some of the benefits to participating in the program include gaining knowledge in the subject area of history to share with my students, receiving many free materials to use in my classroom such as books and cds, obtaining ideas to incorporate into my Social Studies lessons, and having the opportunity to work collaboratively with my colleagues. I highly recommend participating in this grant.
